Darning Crotch Blowout Service
Darning Crotch Blowout Service

NOTE: Jeans MUST be freshly washed. We will NOT work on dirty jeans. If your jeans are dirty we will send the jeans back to you un-serviced for a refund minus the actual return shipping cost. Using Febreze or another type of spray deodorizer doesn't qualify as being washed. If you're questioning if your jeans are clean enough, they are probably dirty. Wash them!

Railcar Fine Goods offers a traditional crotch Darning Service to fix and reinforce those jean crotches and blowouts. We will match as best as we can the patina denim color and darn it closed and reinforce the area around it. Only some interior patching not seen in the exterior may be used for more strength and added life in certain cases. Servicing is done at the Railcar Workshop in Monrovia, California and is not outsourced to third party. Work is performed on a rare vintage Singer darning machine from the 1940s thats shown in the picture. Darning Service turn around time is three weeks from when we receive the jeans at the workshop. In most cases turnaround time is faster. We can't darn twill, canvas or corduroy pants.

Fast turnaround time of 3 weeks from when we receive your jeans here. You will receive a tracking number when your jeans are packed and labeled for its return to you. Your jean status will be in "Processing" in tell the tracking number has been made for it's return.

A note on Darning services and denim repair: Please understand that darning uses thread to close holes and reinforce weak areas of the jean as they wear. In some cases the denim in the entire crotch area of the jean is so thin that repairing one area that has ripped can cause strain on the surrounding area that is thinning as well. We can continue to darn over the weakened areas as they wear, but at a certain point it becomes impractical and you may wish to consider retiring the jean. This is usually a very small percentage of repairs we see. If you have questions or want to shoot us a picture, email us at info@railcarfinegoods.com .
